Man must sow to reap

Created in 1950 by Donal Hord, this medal is a tribute to the farmers and planters that were responsible for the survival of the early European immigrants. The obverse shows a Native America farmer planting corn, with a digging stick in one hand. The reverse features the sun’s rays and heat bringing the planter’s efforts to fruition.
